Hi all, Im new to DXL,

Im trying to write some scripts to understand it more.

Depends. The easy way would be to go for the "Last Modified On" date or the date of a history entry. If you have the date, you can easily determine between which baseline the date is without even opening the baselines. Of course you can get "false positives", if somebody makes a change and reverts it, this will still show up as a change. In addition for attributes that do not affect history, you will miss changes.

So if you really need to know 100% if some object changed between baselines, you need to open up the baselines and compare the objects. This however is non trivial, since you cannot easily determine changes for OLE objects (they will always look changed, even if you read the same object attribute 10 times and close the module after each read you will get different results).

So the question would be, what do you consider a "change"? Regards, Mathias

hi @Mathias Mamsch, thanks for replying :)

I consider a modification as a change in text,links.. actually anything that is more than an object reading.

So, a comparison is my only way? seems pretty inefficient :/

It is. So you need to take one step back and maybe tell us your use case, so we might come a different solution achieving the same thing. Regards, Mathias
